What types of projects does the RNSF fund?

Grant applications are submitted by Rye Neck faculty, administrators and high school students. Projects may include (among other things):

  • New curriculum development

  • Pilot programs

  • Professional development for teachers

  • Technology

  • Special equipment, materials, tools and resources

  • Facilities planning and renovation

 

Grant Guidelines: 

The RNSF awards both InstaGrants and Traditional Grants.  For a complete list of the RNSF grant eligibility requirements, please read the 2024/25 RNSF Grant Guidelines. Rye Neck faculty, administration and high school students are invited to request funding by following the applicable grant application process outlined below.  For help deciding whether you should use the traditional grant or the InstaGrant pathway, please contact the Grants Committee at RNSFgrants@gmail.com.

Overview of Grant Submission Process:

  1. Administrators, faculty and high school students (with a member of the administration or faculty as a co-applicant) are encouraged to apply for Instagrants or Traditional Grants.

  2. Applicants must complete the appropriate application (available below) by the application date.  

  3. Completed applications are submitted to the RNSF. 

  4. The RNSF Grants Committee will review applications and follow up with the applicants as necessary.

  5. Once applications are vetted by the Grants Committee, they will be reviewed and voted on by the RNSF Board of Directors

  6. Grants chosen by the RNSF Board of Directors will be presented to the Rye Neck Board of Education for acceptance of the award.

TRADITIONAL GRANTS

Traditional Grants fund projects and initiatives valued at more than $3,500.  For the 2024/25 school year, traditional grant applications will be accepted by the RNSF on a triannual basis in November, February and May. Below are the specific details regarding traditional grant application cycles:

  • Summer 2024 - members of the RNSF Board of Directors and Grants Committee will meet with the Rye Neck administration and faculty to discuss the grant process and to understand the needs and priorities of the district for the coming school year.

  • Application Cycles for 2024/25 Traditional Grant Applications-

    • Cycle # 1 - applications must be received by November 22, 2024.

    • Cycle # 2 - applications must be received by February 14, 2025.

    • Cycle # 3 - applications must be received by May 16, 2025.

  • Application Review Process - Each application cycle will undergo a one-month review process by the RNSF following the submission period.  During this time, grant applications, budgets and implementation plans will be reviewed and assessed by the RNSF Grants Committee and Board of Directors.

  • Grant Awards - Following each application cycle and review period, grants awarded by the RNSF Board of Directors will be approved by the Rye Neck Board of Education prior to funding.  Approved projects are expected to be implemented within a one-year period.

INSTAGRANTS

The InstaGrant process funds projects and initiatives valued at $3,500 or less. 

  • InstaGrant applications are accepted by the RNSF on a rolling basis, which allows for a fast track review of smaller requests.

  • InstaGrants awarded by the RNSF Board of Directors will be approved by the Rye Neck Board of Education prior to funding. 

  • InstaGrant awards are expected to be implemented during the current school year.
